Kynzee Anderson turned in a tremendous junior softball season in the circle, for herself and her squad.
Now, the Calvary Baptist Academy (Shreveport, La.) junior right-handed pitcher was honored as the Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year.

Anderson, a University of Georgia commit, finished her junior campaign with a 24-1 record with a 1.26 earned run average while striking out 245 in 145 innings. She also batted .466 with 14 home runs, 45 RBIs and a 1.034 slugging percentage.
In her final start in the circle this season, Anderson threw a five-inning no-hitter as the Lady Cavs won the Division III Select state championship with a 12-0 win against D’Arbonne Woods. It was the fifth consecutive state title for Calvary Baptist, which finished 37-1.
“Kynzee is definitely the heart of their team,” D’Arbonne Woods coach David DeMoss said. “She throws about as hard as anyone and has an off-speed and a changeup that will devastate you if you’ve done nothing but work to hit her harder stuff.”
But winning the Gatorade Player of the Year Award is more than just what Anderson did on the field. It also recognizes her accomplishments in the classroom and the community.
Anderson possesses a 4.0 grade-point average and has volunteered locally by making crafts and playing games at a nursing home. She also serves as a youth softball coach and does many community service projects through her church.
Now Anderson - ranked as the No. 1 pitching recruit in the Class of 2026 by Line Drive Media - has the chance to win another state title at Calvary Baptist, as well as having the opportunity to repeat as the Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year.
