The first Class 1A semifinal at 10 a.m. CT pits the Lady Hawks of Carrollton against the Lady Warriors of Casey (Casey-Westfield).

Carrollton (36-1) is making its first trip to state since finishing as the Class A runner-up in 2002, as the Lady Hawks are seeking their first title in program history. Casey-Westfield (34-3) is making its first trip to the “State Series” since finishing as the 1A runner-up in 2022, and is seeking its first championship since going back-to-back in 1999-2000.

Then at 12:30 p.m. CT Friday is the other 1A semifinal, as the Lady Indians of Dakota square off against the Panthers of LeRoy.

Dakota (25-5) is making state for the first time since 2003, the only other time the Lady Indians have made it to state, and the program is seeking its first “State Series” victory. LeRoy (34-5) is also making its second-ever trip to state, having placed third in the 2023 1A “State Series.”

The two semifinal losers play at 9 a.m. CT Saturday for third place, while the two semifinal winners play at 11:30 a.m. for the championship.

In Class 2A, the first semifinal is set for 3 p.m. CT Friday, and will pit the Vikings of Poplar Grove (North Boone) against the Lady Lions of Carterville, a rematch of last season’s 2A title game.

North Boone (27-6) made its first trip to state last season, and was the runner-up in 2A after falling 1-0 to Carterville. Meanwhile, Carterville (28-4) is seeking to win its fourth championship, having also prevailed in 2008 and 2016 along with 2024.

Then in the other 2A semifinal, set for 5:30 p.m. CT Friday, the Bobcats of Beecher take on the Trojans of Auburn (Coop).

Beecher (35-2) finished as the 2A runner-up in 2023. The Bobcats have won four championships, the last coming in 2019. Auburn made its first trip to state last season, with the Trojans placing fourth.

Friday’s 2A semifinal losers play at 2 p.m. CT Saturday for third place, while the 2A semifinal winners square off for the championship at 4:30 p.m.

The 3A and 4A “State Series” tournaments take place the following week, also in Peoria.
