With summer passing tournament season winding down as the official start of high school football draws near, there's still at least one high-profile 7-on-7 invitational on the docket.

Eight teams split between two pools are set to do battle on Saturday at Long Beach Poly's Legends 7v7 Invitational, including the Jackrabbits of course and reigning national champion Mater Dei.

Six more programs including some big names will round out an impressive eight-team field. Joining Poly and Mater Dei in Pool 1 are Inglewood and Mayfair, and Pool 2 is comprised of Etiwanda, Muir, Dominguez, and St. Monica.

Pool play starts at 9 a.m., and the playoffs begin at 12:30 p.m. following a lunch break.

Even with only eight teams to pull from, dozens of Division I recruits in the passing game alone will be in action.

Mater Dei's star-studded crew includes QBs Ryan Hopkins (Wisconsin) and Furian Inferrera (Minnesota), WRs Kayden Dixon-Wyatt (Ohio State), Chris Henry (Ohio State), Gavin Honore (Georgia) and Koen Parnell, and 5-star TE Mark Bowman (USC), the consensus or near-consensus No. 1 tight end in the Class of 2026.

Long Beach Poly's top players to watch on Saturday are QB Deuce Jefferson, WRs Kamarie Smith (Sacramento State) and Jayden Coley, TE Jaden Hernandez (Colorado State), WR/DB Dylin Bruce, and DBs Deon Jackson (Cal), Donte Wright (Georgia), and JuJu Johnson.

Other standouts to look for include Inglewood TE Andre Nickerson (SMU), Inglewood DB Iroc Cordova (Harvard), Mayfair WR/DB Chaz Gilbreath (UC Davis), Muir QB and Murrieta Mesa transfer Trey Gamble, Muir RB/DB Alijah Parker, Muir WR Noah Bozeman, St. Monica QB Bradley Cassier, and Etiwanda QB Keegan Campuzano.
