Four wins, zero losses, and the dunk of the summer.
That's what California Live 2025 had in store for Damarian "Mar" Landry and Oak Hills, who earned the crown in the Game One Sports bracket during the last weekend of June.
Landry, a 6-foot-6 forward and rising junior, dropped 30 points – including the following put-back slam – as the Bulldogs overcame a small deficit late in the game to outduel Oakland Tech 68-66 for the title.

Before that, Oak Hills won 69-63 against Mira Mesa, 72-62 against Arcadia, and 69-57 over Berkeley. The rest of the bracket had more solid competition: University (San Francisco), Mesa (AZ), Clovis East, Glendora, Buchanan (Clovis), Hesperia, Palma, and Canyon.
Landry, who averaged 14.9 points and 10.1 rebounds a game last season, is regarded by many as a high-upside college prospect and one of the top candidates around to break out at an even higher level. He had a swarm of Division I coaches looking on at an event that had dozens, if not hundreds in attendance. Rising seniors Jeremiah Lark and Mo Rios were also standout underclassmen on Oak Hills last season.
The Cali Live title is a great look for a team that just graduated at least two of the top seniors in the High Desert and beyond in guards Ashton McCullough and Mark Jones III after a tremendously successful 2024-25 campaign. Last season, the Bulldogs went 25-5, swept the Mojave River League, and edged out Pilibos in the first round of the CIF-SS 2AA playoffs before giving Corona Centennial a game in a second round loss.
