The Nebraska high school state baseball championships took place recently, as Lincoln East, Gretna East and Malcolm laid claim to titles.

In the final between Lincoln East and Millard North, the Spartans rallied, claiming a 5-4 walk-off victory in the Class A final. Joey Stenstock, a shortstop who is headed to Nebraska, drove in two runs while Troy Peltz, who has committed to Iowa Western, recorded two hits with a triple, a double, an RBI and a run scored.

For Millard North, Chase Machal, who is headed to Southeast CC, homered, going 3-for-3 at the plate.

Gretna East held Bennington down, defeating the Badgers in the Class B finale, 2-0. The Griffins scored both runs in the fourth to support York University commit Austin Copeland, who went the distance, allowing two hits and striking out three without a walk issued.

Chase Neneman delivered the winning hit, driving in two runs with a single for Gretna East, who lost in the finals a year ago.

Malcolm handled Central City/Centura in the Class C championship, ending the contest in five innings, 10-0. Logan McGreer was 3-for-3 with three RBI and a run scored as five others drove in runs for the Clippers.

Mason Wisnieski earned the win on the mound, striking out six with two hits allowed.
