Reese Moore is coming off an all-Big Ten season as a catcher for the Iowa baseball team. The Van Meter, Iowa native will now attempt to duplicate his success against SEC competition.

Moore announced on social media that he has transferred to South Carolina, becoming the 12th transfer addition for the Gamecocks heading into the 2026 season.

Following an all-state career at Van Meter High School and Forest City High School, Moore signed with the Hawkeyes and shined bright over two seasons. He hit 14 home runs with 31 doubles, 77 RBI and 81 runs scored in 107 games, hitting .296 for his career.

Along with making the Big Ten first-team this past spring, Moore was a third-team selection as a freshman while also making the all-Big Ten freshman squad. He was regarded as a Top 500 recruit coming out of high school where he also shined on the football field and wrestling mats.

Moore took a redshirt in 2023 so he will be a redshirt junior this coming year for South Carolina, who went 28-29 this past season with a 6-24 mark in the SEC.
