It's just one of those seasons where the CIF-Sac Joaquin Section has a disproportionate share of Northern California's top high school baseball teams.

St. Mary's (Stockton) and Franklin (Elk Grove) had to navigate a brutal field to make the Division 1 championship, and it looks to be a complete tossup heading into the finals at Sacramento City College with both teams at 25-7.

Coincidentally, they have the same exact league record as well – 13-2 with undisputed titles in the TCAL (St. Mary's) and Delta League (Franklin).

St. Mary's, the top seed, held off Davis 4-1 and 3-2 in the semifinal series, and No. 3 Franklin upset nationally-ranked Rocklin 7-4 and 4-1. The championship, however, is no best-of-three series, as the one and only game on Friday is for all the marbles.
