Six teams will vie for the storied Pettit Cup in the Coastal Plain League playoffs, which begin with a pair of wild-card games on Sunday, Aug. 3.
Three teams from each division qualify for the playoffs, which includes a best-of-three divisional series and a best-of-three championship series. At the latest, a championship will be crowned by Monday, Aug. 11.
Last year, the Wilmington Sharks captured the Pettit Cup by defeating the Lexington County Blowfish in the championship. Both teams are among the six-team field for this year's playoffs, with Wilmington hoping to become the first repeat winner since Savannah in 2021 and 2022.
