Reagan Bills etched herself in Little League Softball World Series lore on Sunday, pitching a complete-game shutout and driving in the sole run as Pennsylvania bested Indiana to take home the LLSWS crown.
Bills spearheaded a splendid Johnston, Penn. rotation throughout the five-game tournament. The Mid-Atlantic side claimed five wins in tournament play. Four of those victories were shutouts; Pennsylvania surrendered just one run in the gauntlet.
The stage was set for Bills and Co. to author up an impressive display against the Floyd Knobs, Ind. side. The Central team responded with aplomb, holding Pennsylvania's bats relatively quiet throughout the six-inning duel.
They couldn't stop Bills, though, who broke through with an RBI single that slithered through the infield in the bottom of the fourth. She returned to dominance atop the hill, whiffing two — her 50th and 51st strikeouts of the tournament — as Pennsylvania recorded its first LLSWS title since 1978.
