The 98th iteration of the American Legion World Series draws to a close on Tuesday evening, with League City, Texas, battling Chesapeake, Va., in the championship game.
League City reached the ALWS for a fourth consecutive season, becoming just the second program in history to do so. Now, it's on the doorstep of a second championship in the last three seasons, after winning a title in 2023.
Competition will be stiff, as Chesapeake has rolled through tournament thus far with an undefeated record. The program is seeking its first ALWS title and just the second championship for a team from Virginia.
This game pits strength on strength, with a powerful League City lineup (tournament-high nine home runs) battling a stingy Chesapeake pitching staff (tournament-low 10 runs allowed).
