The FIFA Club World Cup quarterfinals continue into the weekend, with Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund battling at MetLife Stadium in New York. Only one of these powerhouse clubs will advance to the semifinals and a shot at Club World Cup glory.
It's a true clash of European titans, as each club has quite a storied history of greatness. Real Madrid has five FIFA Club World Cup titles since 2015. Borussia Dortmund is the second-most decorated German football team, with eight league championships, and recently finished as runners-up in the 2024 UEFA Europa League (formerly the UEFA Cup).
Real Madrid won its group by eking out a 1-0 victory over Juventus in the Round of 16, guided by Gonzalo García's lone goal of the match. Borussia Dortmund finished its group play by knocking off Monterrey, 2-1. Serhou Guirassy enjoyed a strong match for the German team.
