Georgia will be looking to return to college football glory in 2025, just a few years removed from Kirby Smart leading the program to back-to-back national titles. And while Brock Bowers and Ladd McConkey won't be walking through the doors of Sanford Stadium this fall, the Bulldogs still find themselves with the second-shortest odds to win the National Championship.
Smart once again has the pleasure of overseeing a deep and super-talented SEC powerhouse. Gunner Stockton will start under center, taking over for Carson Beck after the latter transferred to Miami.
Of course, Georgia's defense will need to return to a level of dominance to get to a third national title game since 2017. The Bulldogs allowed under 80 rushing yards per game from 2019 through 2022, but the program hit the skids a bit last year. A bounce-back is probable, as nobody in the FBS recruits defensive talent like Smart.

It won't be an easy schedule, by any measure. Georgia has SEC road games against Tennessee, Auburn, and Mississippi State, a neutral tilt vs. Florida in Jacksonville, and tough home games against Texas and Alabama. It's quite possible the Bulldogs will be favored in every one of these games, but none should be shoo-in wins.

The 2025-26 college football season kicks off for Georgia on Saturday, Aug. 30. The Bulldogs will host seven games at Sanford Stadium in Athens, GA, while going on the road for three games and playing two games in neutral locations.
