Bo Nix and the Broncos host 2025 No. 1 pick Cam Ward and the Titans on opening weekend of the 2025 NFL season. It's a matchup between one of last year's most improved teams and this year's most hopeful team, and tickets have been in high demand all summer.
The season-opening AFC tilt takes place at Empower Field at Mile High, where Denver went 6-2 en route to a 10-7 finish last season. Sean Payton guided the Broncos to the playoffs in his second year as head coach, and now fans have their hopes set for a deep playoff run.
Nix, who finished third in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting last year, certainly has plenty of help. In addition to recently-extended wide receiver Courtland Sutton, the Broncos also have solid running backs in rookie RJ Harvey and offseason acquisition J.K. Dobbins. Denver also picked up veteran tight end Evan Engram, who figures to be Nix's No. 2 target.
And we can't forget about the defense, led by 2024 DPOY Patrick Surtain II. Denver finished last season with the No. 3 scoring defense while giving up the seventh-fewest yards. The Broncos also finished second in the NFL in net yards allowed per passing attempt and rushing attempt.

So, the No. 1 pick will have his work cut out for him. But Cam Ward knows a little something about battling through adversity. He started his college football career with Incarnate Word, the only school to offer him a scholarship, before transferring to Washington State and finally Miami, where he won ACC Player of the Year and finished fourth in Heisman voting.
Ward now has a better depth chart around him than many realize. With Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears in the backfield — not to mention Calvin Ridley, Tyler Lockett and Chig Okonkwo as pass-catchers — Tennessee has a good chance to be one of the most improved teams of the 2025 season.
