The 2025 Citi DC Open will kick-start the American hard-court season that winds down with the last grand slam of the season, the US Open. The joint ATP and WTA 500 event will take place from July 21-27.

Venus Williams' return to the court after over a year and set the Citi Open abuzz. Seven-time grand slam champion Williams, 45, last competed on the pro tour in March 2024 at the Miami Open. American star Jessica Pegula is the top seed in the women's draw, that includes major champions like Sofia Kenin, Naomi Osaka, Emma Raducanu and Elena Rybakina.

In the men's field, World No. 4 Taylor Fritz, who reached the semifinals of the French Open as well as Wimbledon, is the top contender in the men's category. He will compete with the likes of Ben Shelton, Lorenzo Musseti, Holger Rune, and Alex de Minaur for the title.
