The Cincinnati Open, one of the biggest events in the North American hard-court swing, gets underway on Thursday, August 7 at the renovated Lindner Family Tennis Center in Ohio.
This year, the tournament has expanded to a 96-player event that will run over 12 days.
Along with World No 1 Aryna Sabalenka, the year's three grand slam champions -- Australian Open champion Madison Keys, French Open champion Coco Gauff and Wimbledon champion Iga Swiatek, will all feature in WTA 1000 event.
However, Venus Williams may yet again be the headlining act. The 45-year-old made a stirring return to tennis after 18 months at the recently-concluded Citi Open and will continue on her comeback tour in Cincinnati.
