Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement with Brentford to sign Bryan Mbeumo in a deal worth up to £71 million, making the forward their third summer signing.

The 25-year-old Cameroon international had been on United’s radar for weeks, and now the move is nearly done.

Mbeumo has apparently already agreed personal terms, having made it clear he only wanted to join United despite interest from other clubs including Tottenham, Arsenal, and Newcastle.

United had two earlier bids turned down, but Brentford finally accepted an offer of £65 million plus £6 million in bonuses.

The Athletic first reported the agreement, which comes shortly after United completed deals for Matheus Cunha and young defender Diego Leon.

Mbeumo, who joined Brentford in 2019 from French club Troyes, had a strong season in 2024–25. He played in all 38 league games, scored 20 goals, and added 8 assists as Brentford finished 10th.

The forward has 242 appearances and 121 goal contributions for the Bees.

It’s another big-money move by United as they look to sharpen their attack under manager Ruben Amorim. And it’s safe to say: Mbeumo is no longer buzzing around the radar — he’s landing at Old Trafford.

How Bryan Mbeumo could fit in Manchester United squad?

Mbeumo is a flexible forward who can play across the front line. But his best work has come from the right wing, where he likes to cut inside on his left foot.

Amorim could use him as a right-sided attacker in a 3-4-3 setup or even as a second striker if needed. He’s also solid with penalties and rarely misses games.

Last season, he showed more control and consistency in the final third, bouncing back strongly from an ankle injury.

His ability to carry the ball, press off the ball, and finish in tight spaces makes him a strong fit for United’s more aggressive style.
