Manchester City’s summer plans could soon take a sharp turn toward the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Premier League champions are reportedly eyeing Real Madrid’s Rodrygo as a potential addition — but only if one key domino falls.
City’s interest hinges on the future of Brazilian winger Savinho. As per reports, Tottenham Hotspur have made an opening offer for the 21-year-old, but it’s well below City’s valuation.

Should Spurs meet the asking price, Pep Guardiola’s side will move for Rodrygo. Until then, the deal remains parked.
The 24-year-old has been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool this summer, but Madrid appear open to letting him go for around €100 million (£86.2m).
Rodrygo, who prefers playing on the left, has seen his role reduced following Kylian Mbappe’s arrival in Spain.

City have already distanced themselves from speculation over AS Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche, focusing solely on possible Savinho replacements.
And given Rodrygo’s history against City, fans may prefer to see him wearing sky blue rather than tormenting them in another Champions League tie.
What Rodrygo thinks of Pep Guardiola as a manager?

Rodrygo has faced Guardiola’s City nine times, scoring four goals and setting up two more. His brace in the 2022 Champions League semi-final, he once said, “changed a lot of things” in his career.
Speaking earlier in 2024, the Brazilian admitted: “It’s the most special night of my career and I hope it happens again.”
While he has described Guardiola as a “great coach,” Rodrygo also confessed, “I don’t really like playing against Manchester City… nobody likes playing against City.”
That mutual respect could set the stage for a surprising partnership — but only if Spurs first unlock the move by sealing Savinho’s signing.
Madrid are already eyeing FC Porto’s Rodrigo Mora as a replacement, showing they’re braced for Rodrygo’s exit. Now, the ball is in Tottenham’s court — and if they play it right, Pep might just get another Brazilian star in his attack.
