German giants Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly one of the teams interested in signing Chelsea outcast Raheem Sterling this summer.
The 30-year-old winger does not have a future at Stamford Bridge, after returning from a mixed loan spell at Arsenal, but an exit could hinge on his contract status.
His current deal runs until 2027, which means the Blues must find a solution over his salary, as they aim to offload the England international.
Enzo Maresca’s team are reportedly seeking £20m as an exit fee, but the club may struggle to find a suitor that meets that valuation.
Leverkusen and and Serie A giants Juventus are both reportedly interested in Sterling, which would give the experienced forward a route into next season’s UEFA Champions League.
A permanent sale is Chelsea's preference over Sterling, but due to financial complications, they might have to make do with loaning him out for a second consecutive year.

Under their new manager, Erik Ten Hag, Leverkusen looking to bring in reinforcements, following the summer departure of talisman Florian Wirtz.
According to CaughtOffside, the German side are only willing to sign Sterling on loan for the 2025/26 season, with a portion of his wages still to be paid by Chelsea.
The report also adds ‘talks’ could soon take place to find a compromise, but Leverkusen’s interest is still in its preliminary stages.
A move to Germany may be an ideal opportunity for Sterling to revive his career, which has been on a downward trajectory in recent years.
However, whether or not a move is possible may come down to the player’s wages, and Sterling may have to take a cut on his substantial salary for the move to become a reality.
