Edmonton fans can breathe now.

The Oilers survived the Canucks' late comeback attempt and will move on to the Western Conference Finals.

The Oilers controlled the game for over 50 minutes, leading 3-0 with about 10 minutes left in the third period. That's when the Canucks showed up for their home fans.

Conor Garland and Filip Hronek each found the back of the net, cutting Edmonton's lead down to 3-2 with over four minutes to play. Unfortunately for Vancouver, that's where the run ended.

The Canucks couldn't score another goal even after emptying their net with about two minutes remaining. The Oilers, who looked shaky during the Canucks' run, were far better closing out the game.

Stuart Skinner finished with 15 saves for the Oilers, while Arturs Silovs made 26 saves for the Canucks. Silovs was tested far more often, as the Oilers led in the shot department all night. The end total was 29-17 in favor of Edmonton.

Cody Ceci started the scoring in the second period, and Zach Hyman followed up minutes later. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins picked up one goal and one assist in the Oilers' win.

Edmonton advances to the Western Conference Finals and will play the Dallas Stars. The series begins on Thursday, May 23 at 8:30 p.m. ET.

11:32 p.m.: Momentum is definitely on Vancouver's side at this point. The offense is flowing, and players are finally getting good looks on net. Still 3-1, so there's work to be done.

11:28 p.m.: GOAL! Conor Garland scoops up the loose puck and scores the Canuck's first goal of the night. It's 3-1 with about eight minutes remaining.

11:20 p.m.: Canucks fail to convert on this power play, but they at least got two shots to show for it.

11:15 p.m.: Oilers pick up a delay of game penalty, so Vancouver will have a much-needed power play.

11:14 p.m.: Oilers are maintaining their lead and advantage on the shot chart. It's 3-0 through six minutes of play and shots are 27-12 in Edmonton's advantage.

Second period: Oilers 3, Canucks 0

10:40 p.m.: Not what Vancouver needs right now. Oilers will go on a power play for tripping.

10:33 p.m.: Oilers aren't letting up on the shots. They lead 26-8 with 8:56 remaining in the second period.

10:21 p.m.: GOAL! Evan Bouchard clanks one off the post to put Edmonton up 2-0 through six minutes of the second period.

10:17 p.m.: MY GOODNESS, SILOVS AGAIN! If you thought his last save was good, this was even better as he makes a remarkable glove save on the dive.

10:16 p.m.: This is how a power play should attack — pestering the Canucks defense on the man advantage. Oilers are up to 18-3 on shots.

10:14 p.m.: Oilers will go on a power play for tripping. Two minutes.

10:14 p.m.: Teams to score first in a Game 7 have a 148-48 record (75.5%) in NHL history. Great odds for Edmonton.

9:45 p.m.: Vancouver's been on the aggressive in the past minute with a couple loose pucks in front of Skinner. Now, the Canucks will go on a four-minute minor power play for a high stick.

9:43 p.m.: Oilers whiff right in front of the net. Lucky moment for the Canucks, who have been tested early many times. No score through 15 minutes of play.

9:33 p.m.: Intensity is rising in this Game 7 as some punches are thrown after the whistle.

9:29 p.m.: Edmonton is dominating the shot chart early, leading 8-1. It's still scoreless, however.
