Washington Commanders schedule 2025: Dates & times for all 17 games, strength of schedule and predictions image

The Washington Commanders have sky-high expectations with second-year quarterback Jayden Daniels leading an improved offense. Daniels, in his Rookie of the Year campaign, lifted the team from 4-13 to 12-5 NFC wild-card team. Washington also overachieved in the playoffs, losing to NFC East and eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia in the conference title game.

Daniels has better weapons and blocking now. Coach Dan Quinn has reinforcements for his defense. If the Commanders aren't "all in" for Daniels' sophomore season, they would be close, trying to take full advantage of his cheap initial contract.

Here's the follow-up outlook for Washington after a surprising, successful 2024.

Commanders strength of schedule

Based on the combined winning percentage of the Commanders' 14 opponents from last season. (.550), they have the No. 8 toughest schedule in NFL. They face eight playoff teams from last year, including the Eagles twice and the Chiefs once.

Toughest tests: Other than those pair of games with Philadelphia, facing Kansas City on the road will likely be the most challenging matchup for Washington. The Chargers and Broncos are two more tricky interconference games. They also draw the brutal NFC North, needing to go to Lambeau Field and host the Lions in a playoff rematch.

Biggest breaks: The Commanders will try to keep their edge over the Cowboys and Giants in the division. The Dolphins and Falcons away are manageable in favorable weather. The Raiders and Seahawks are nice home dates to have vs. long-traveling teams.

Commanders record prediction

  • Over/under win total: 9.5 (per BetMGM)

Bottom line: The Commanders won't be catching anyone by surprise with Daniels anymore, and the schedule overall is tougher. There will likely be a regression in wins, but Washington is too talented overall on both sides with its two-year infusion under GM Adam Peters to fail to at least repeat its wild-card status.

Record prediction: 10-7
