San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa had a subpar season in 2024, in terms of his own lofty standards.

After all, it's a high bar for a player with five Pro Bowl seasons, a 2022 NFL Defensive Player of the Year honor, and one First Team All-Pro selection.

The Niners will be looking for Bosa to return to his peak form this season, as they look to rebound from a disappointing 2024 campaign.

And ESPN 49ers reporter Nick Wagoner thinks the defensive end is on track to do just that. He was recently asked which 49ers players has been most impressive in training camp. His answer: The all-important Nick Bosa.

"DE Nick Bosa. Apologies to TE George Kittle, WR Ricky Pearsall and rookie CB Upton Stout here, but Bosa has been the most consistently dominant performer even in a camp in which he participates in only two out of every three practices," Wagoner wrote. "Bosa spent more time around his teammates in the spring and is working to be a resource for the team's many young defensive linemen. The result of that, and a disappointing 2024, is a Bosa who looks like he's ready to return to his 2022 NFL Defensive Player of the Year form.

Sports Illustrated NFL insider Grant Cohn also noted Bosa's dominant and disruptive performance at Friday's practice.

"In his last practice, which was Friday, he put on a show," Cohn wrote. "During 11-on-11 team drills, he repeatedly beat starting right tackle Colton McKivitz for sacks. Almost every play started with Bosa beating McKivitz and then tapping Brock Purdy lightly on the shoulder while running past him. Bosa made a statement that day. He was the best player on the field."
