49ers free agent idea adds 13-interception star image

The San Francisco 49ers had a season to forget last year, as the team failed to make the playoffs despite reaching the Super Bowl.

San Francisco has been one of these teams over the last few years that have been knocking on the door of winning it all, but can't quite get through the door just yet.

The 49ers have a handful of veteran players ready to win now, and they should aim to add more experienced players before the season starts.

Matt Holder from Bleacher Report thinks the 49ers should try to sign cornerback Mike Hilton to beef up the defense.

"This pairing would depend on what the plan is with Deommodore Lenoir this season," Holder wrote."Lenoir made his money at slot corner over the last two years, but he may play on the boundary more in 2025 after Charvarius Ward’s departure in free agency. So, there might be room for the 49ers to bring in a veteran nickel ahead of training camp."

Hilton is entering his ninth NFL season and has a career of 13 interceptions in 123 games, so he knows how to play the ball.

The 49ers should try everything they can to sign Hilton, and it doesn't hurt to bring him into camp to see what he has left to give to the team.
