The San Francisco 49ers might be the busiest NFL team as far as training camp transactions go.

Players are coming and going from their 90-man roster left and right as they try to determine who has a shot to make their regular season 53-man group.

That resulted in five cuts and five signings on Monday alone.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the moves.

The five signed players:

  • DL Bradlee Anae
  • DL Bruce Hector
  • S Jaylen Mahoney
  • CB Fabian Moreau
  • OL Isaiah Prince

The five cuts:

  • QB Tanner Mordecai
  • WR Isaiah Neyor
  • TE Mason Pline
  • K Greg Joseph
  • CB Tre Avery

As far as impacts on the main roster, the Joseph cut is notable. It means Jake Moody is pretty settled in to be the top kicker yet again in San Francisco after an injury-plagued season.

Mordecai was just a depth signing at the quarterback position, in part because seventh-rounder Kurtis Rourke is injured right now. But he didn't have a real chance to make the team.

The signings of Anae and Hector are two former Jets that reunite with returned defensive coordinator Robert Salah.

The 49ers' fanbase was a bit confused on social media by the cut of Neyor, who was having a solid camp, but San Francisco is shuttling receivers in as quick as they can to try and fill in on the back half of the depth chart, and they already brought a few new ones in last week.

Moreau, a former New York Giant, gets another chance in the league.

There's a chance none of these moves matter much, but it's the little deals that often mean a lot in the NFL.

Joseph seems like the main candidate to quickly sign with another team. He's a proven, veteran kicker.

And the 49ers surely will make more moves soon enough.
