The San Francisco 49ers have had a busy offseason, highlighted by losing key players and paying Brock Purdy. Now, one of their breakout stars is demanding a new deal or a trade.

The 49ers traded Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders this offseason. What would be a crushing loss for most teams was not for the 49ers. The team is getting Brandon Aiyuk back, drafted Ricky Pearsall in the first round last year and saw Jauan Jennings have a breakout season. However, Jennings is now demanding a new deal, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

"49ers WR Jauan Jennings, who is scheduled to make $7.5 million this season in the final year of his deal, wants a new contract or a trade, per sources," wrote Schefter on X. "49ers extended Jennings’ deal last year, but that does not change how Jennings feels about this year."

Jennings signed a two-year, $15.3 million deal last offseason, after initially being offered a $4.89 restricted tender. He signed that extension, however, before finishing second on the team in receiving yards, and first in the wide receiver room.

When the team drafted Pearsall, with Samuel and Aiyuk already in-house, Jennings was likely seen as a No. 4 option. However, he put together a 975-yard season with six touchdowns in 15 games. Losing him now would be a big blow as he is going into the season with the expectation to contribute.

Many teams would consider trading for Jennings. He showed what he can do with significant playing time, and a team in need of a No. 2 option could be willing to trade and pay for him.
