The Pittsburgh Steelers will play their first of three preseason games on Saturday night when they take on the Jacksonville Jaguars at EverBank Stadium.

Unfortunately, some of the juice has been removed from the game, as the team's most notable stars will not be suiting up, the Steelers announced during the week. That list is highlighted by quarterback Aaron Rodgers and edge rusher T.J. Watt.

However, we will get a look at the team's rookies, who will be getting their first live-game action of their NFL careers.

That said, not every rookie will be playing.

Is Will Howard playing tonight?

We will not see the Steelers debut of quarterback Will Howard, who is dealing with a broken finger that will keep him out "at least three weeks," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Howard suffered the injury at practice on a quarterback-center exchange.

Is Howard out for rest of preseason?

While Howard's timeline suggests he won't be back before the end of the preseason, head coach Mike Tomlin did leave the door open for that to happen.

"Tomlin doesn't rule out Will Howard (broken finger) playing at some point in the preseason," ESPN's Brooke Pryor reported.

Steelers' QB depth chart

Howard has had a solid first offseason in the NFL overall.

He's no doubt had his ups and downs, but the Ohio State product has worked his way up to third on the Steelers' depth chart ahead of Skyler Thompson and behind Aaron Rodgers and Mason Rudolph.
