In the aftermath of the Pittsburgh Steelers trading George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys, we continue to get more and more inside information.

The latest piece of info pertains to Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin's feelings on the trade that sent Pickens and a 2027 sixth-round pick to Dallas in exchange for a 2026 third-round pick and a 2027 fifth-rounder.

Not only did Tomlin not have a problem with the trade of Pickens, he was "behind it" and "all-in on it," according to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

"He was behind it and all-in on it," Dulac said in his Steelers chat. "He's a coach. He makes the roster decisions. Rooney can intervene if he so chooses."

This really doesn't come as much of a surprise considering the problems Pickens caused during his time with the Steelers.

As Dulac pointed out in a previous report, Pickens' violations had piled up to the point that it ran the risk of becoming a problem in the locker room, which was something Pittsburgh simply couldn't afford.

"It was so bad that they made the move right now and didn't even wait till later," he said. "The litany of violations apparently were endless. I remember one of the players telling me last year during the season that the people internally don't even realize half the violations that he commits."

"The players, they see that, they're not gonna tolerate that," Dulac added. "If the coaches and management don't do something about it, then they lose respect for them."

As talented as Pickens was, and as much as the Steelers needed him, the problems he stood to cause trumped all of that, so it's no surprise Pittsburgh let him go.
