In an interview today with the Cleveland Browns media, former Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett subtly threw shade towards Pittsburgh. While Pickett has never explicitly talked poorly about his time as a Steeler, the assumption can be made that he did not see eye to eye on many decisions made, thus the reason for his request to be traded.

However, Pickett said today, “I’m extremely grateful for my time in Philly, I think I was shown just how it’s supposed to be done, really, from the top down. So when you get a chance to see what it’s supposed to look like, and how it should look on a day to day basis, and not just on Sundays, I think it’ll pay dividends for me in the future.”

After just two seasons, Pickett was traded to the Eagles, where they won a Super Bowl with him as their backup. Pickett had a 14-11 record as a starter for the Steelers and averaged 185 passing yards his first season and 172 passing yards during his second season.

However, this comment from Pickett is not coming during a time of jubilation from the Steelers. Many fans and media sources are questioning the coaching tree, specifically Mike Tomlin and how he has handled the offseason. To nobody’s surprise, the Steelers are in quarterback purgatory, where they are still unsure if Aaron Rodgers is going to sign with them, or if Mason Rudolph will be their game one starter.

These comments are coming just days after George Pickens also took a slight jab towards the Steelers, saying “It’s super refreshing with a different culture.” The former Steeler wide receiver was traded recently to Dallas, where he seems to have the same opinion of Pittsburgh that Pickett has.

As for Pickett, he is currently competing for a starting position on the Browns against Joe Flacco, Shadeur Sanders, and Dillon Gabriel. The Browns head to Pittsburgh on week six, as the matchup is shaping up to be a classic bad-blooded dog fight.
