Pittsburgh Steelers training camp is underway in Latrobe and Aaron Rodgers and DK Metcalf are suitemates.

The decision was made by head coach Mike Tomlin, according to ESPN's Brooke Pryor, and it makes sense considering Metcalf is Rodgers' No. 1 target and the two stand as vital components in offensive coordinator Arthur Smith's offense.

Metcalf was surprised to discover he had a suitemate at all, and Rodgers was relieved to find out he wouldn't be matched with a lineman.

"I was secretly hoping it wasn't a big lineman or something," Rodgers said. "Maybe somebody had cared about their hygiene a little bit. So, when I walked in I saw a standard suitcase. I said, 'Oh, I think it's going to be good. This is probably DK.'"

When Rodgers first walked into Metcalf's room, the wide receiver was playing a game of EA Sports' College Football 26.

Metcalf thought Rodgers was a gamer and might be interested in playing with him, but he quickly found out that was not the case.

"I thought he did," Metcalf said of Rodgers playing video games. "He walked in my room yesterday and he was like, 'Oh, you're gaming.' And I was like, 'Yeah,' and he just walked out."

"It was a good experience just to see his face and knowing that we could continue conversations outside the meeting room," Metcalf added.

Rodgers detailed how he and Metcalf have worked out together multiple times during the offseason, which has led to a "good relationship" between the two.

"We talked about a lot of football stuff," Rodgers said. "We FaceTime, we texted during the offseason after many camps, so we've got a good relationship. It's going to just keep on growing."

In the Steelers' first training camp practice on Thursday, Rodgers and Metcalf connected on one of three passes in the team period, Pryor noted.
