The Texans and Panthers have vastly different expectations heading into the 2025 season.
Houston is looking to win the AFC South for the third consecutive season while also improving on the 10-7 record it had in each of the past two years. The Texans have plenty of talent, led by quarterback C.J. Stroud, but they dealt with numerous injuries last season.
Stroud's third season will be a critical one after he took a step back in his sophomore campaign.
Meanwhile, the Panthers are hoping they can find something with Bryce Young after drafting him first overall in 2023. The team selected Young just ahead of Stroud at No. 2, so these teams will always have a rivalry as long as these two quarterbacks are rostered.
The Panthers and Texans will play each other in the second week of the preseason. Both teams lost their first game of the preseason.
