There may be only two teams in the NFL still playing meaningful football, but fans of other teams can see some of their favorite players in action this weekend in the Pro Bowl.

The best players from the AFC and NFC will represent their respective conferences in the NFL's version of an all-star game.

As happens every year, some of the game's biggest stars who were named Pro-Bowlers have opted out — most notably Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, who retired Tuesday. Players can opt out or decline a Pro Bowl bid for any reason. Bengals wideout Ja'Marr Chase and Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey, meanwhile, are deep in Super Bowl prep.

The game has had conference ties for all but three years since 1970. From 1970-2012, the game pitted AFC vs. NFC with the NFC holding a 22-21 lead in that span. Since the game has returned to conference format in 2016, the AFC has taken a 25-22 the lead in the series with four consecutive wins.
