The Los Angeles Chargers will head into their first draft with new head coach Jim Harbaugh sitting at No. 5 in the first round.

After moving on from key contributors such as Keenan Allen and Austin Ekeler this offseason, the team will be looking to build around franchise quarterback Justin Herbert and create a contender for the coach who won last year's college national championship.

The Sporting News will be tracking all of the moves made by the Chargers.

Chargers draft needs

Wide Receiver: After trading Allen and allowing Mike Williams to leave via free agency, the Chargers should be looking for a new No. 1 option to catch passes from Herbert. With the No. 5 overall pick, they should be able to land one of the best in this class, either Marvin Harrison Jr. or Malik Nabers.

Offensive Tackle: The Chargers can use some more help along the offensive line in general and knowing the style of football Harbaugh prefers to play, that is certainly an option in this draft. Many mock drafts have had the team selecting Notre Dame tackle Joe Alt with the fifth overall pick.

Cornerback: The Chargers signed Kristian Fulton in free agency but the team needs more than that if they are going to keep up in the AFC West. The team should look to add a corner with one of its first three picks.
