Fresh off Tuesday's million-fan march, Broncos coach Gary Kubiak and defensive end DeMarcus Ware left the team's Super Bowl rally to take a phone call from President Barack Obama.

And it didn't take long for the POTUS to join the chorus heaping praise on Denver's defense — of course, with a shoutout to Chicago.

"Mr. President, how are you?" Kubiak asked.

"Well, not as good as you," Obama said. "But I want to let you know that that's about as good a defense as I've seen since the '85 Bears."

Broncos linebacker Danny Trevathan's assessment after the Broncos' 24-10 win over Carolina took it a step further. He said the Broncos' defense was the best in NFL history, better than even the '85 Bears.

Broncos president and GM John Elway settled on "historic."

It could be a topic for discussion when the Broncos visit the White House.

"Hopefully," Obama said, "you guys can get here before I leave office."
