Jalen Milroe is fast.
No one is questioning that the former Alabama star quarterback can absolutely fly, not after a Pro Day 40-yard dash time clocked unofficially at 4.37 seconds.
But there's more to it than that, says his college coach Kalen DeBoer.
“The running piece speaks for itself," DeBoer said on NFL Network on Monday. "... He’s not just running to guys. He’s running through and by them.”

In one way, that may be concerning for a quarterback prospect that an NFL team would want to ensure stays healthy.
But on the other hand, that's how physically impressive Milroe is. Coupled with some intriguing deep ball skills and you've got yourself a risky but potentially very rewarding NFL Draft pick.
In 2024, Milroe threw 16 touchdowns and ran for another 20. He might need an offense tailored to his skillset, but man has he got a serious skillset.
