New York Giants first-round pick Abdul Carter was considered by most analysts to be the best all-around football player in the 2025 NFL Draft. He drew comparisons to Micah Parsons during the pre-draft process and is expected to join forces with Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux to form one of the NFC's most lethal pass-rush trios.

Carter was a dominant force during his final season at Penn State. He ended 2024 with a career-high 12 sacks and 24 tackles for loss, and despite a foot injury sidelining him during the athletic testing at the NFL Combine, his film left no doubt that he was the most explosive pass rusher to enter the league in quite some time.

As a result, sacks are expected in bunches from Carter, and he has an epic celebration planned for when he takes an opposing quarterback down.

He's conjuring images of Darth Vader, the infamous villain from the Star Wars film series.

Abdul Carter has long held a connection to Darth Vader

This isn't the first time Carter connected himself to cinema's most powerful villain. He used an image of Vader in a recuperative pod to react to the news of his foot injury in February, and used the same image a month earlier when he was dealing with a shoulder injury during the College Football Playoffs.

The thought of Carter standing over a just-sacked quarterback and flashing the Vader grip is... epic. Call it a hunch, but I think the fans at MetLife Stadium will quickly follow suit, and the Star Wars-themed Giants celebrations will take on a life of their own.
