The New York Giants have a new quarterback and some fresh faces around the offense.
But they can't afford to lose their most important returner, Malik Nabers.
On Tuesday, there was a bit of cause for concern. Nabers left practice with an injury and didn't return.
The star second-year receiver was "banged up on a run play," wrote ESPN's Jordan Raanan.
"On the ground for a few seconds," Raanan added. "Grabbed at his shoulder as he walked off."
About 10 minutes later, Raanan sent out this update:
"Malik Nabers went into the field house with the Giants head trainer. Ronnie Barnes then came outside and gave HC Brian Daboll an update. Nabers did not return to practice. He appears done for the day."
Nabers was a superstar in his first NFL season out of LSU.
He caught 109 passes for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns. And as Giants fans will tell you, he did that with incompetency at quarterback.

New York is pumped to see what Nabers can do with Russell Wilson at QB, and the Giants' fanbase is certainly hoping that Nabers can eventually be an expert target for this year's first-rounder, Jaxson Dart.
In a brutally tough NFC East, the Giants can't afford much of anything going against them if they want to remain competitive.
The good news is that it's July, and Nabers seems more likely than not to be OK. But it's a reminder that if he ever were to miss extended time, that wouldn't be good for the Giants.
