Giants legend Odell Beckham Jr. gets free agent update involving 'several' teams after retirement rumors image

Odell Beckham Jr. isn't done yet.

He made that clear earlier this week after a fake retirement rumor got a lot of social media attention. The New York Giants' former superstar is a free agent, and he plans to keep playing.

On Wednesday, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero provided this update on OBJ via a post on X:

"Three-time Pro Bowl WR Odell Beckham Jr. has drawn interest from several teams and plans to play somewhere in 2025, per source. As OBJ posted himself, he is not retiring, and he continues to train in anticipation of being on the field soon."

Beckham is one of a number of veterans still available in free agency. At the wide receiver position, Amari Cooper is another, and he too had fake retirement reports go viral.

The 32-year old wide receiver Beckham has played in 10 NFL seasons, including his five superstar years with the New  York Giants that included 5,476 receiving yards on 390 catches with 44 touchdowns.

OBJ also had an 1,000-yard campaign with the Browns as part of three seasons in Cleveland.

Since then, he has played for the Rams, Ravens and Dolphins.

Last season in Miami, Beckham played nine games and caught nine passes for 55 yards.

Pelissero's report that "several" teams are in on Beckham likely means OBJ is figuring out which place will give him the most opportunity in the regular season.

A late injury could probably create an opening for OBJ, too.

He might not have a ton left in the tank, but name value will get Beckham another chance. He's made it clear that he wants it, and apparently it's coming soon.
