The New Orleans Saints made a smart pickup on Saturday.
They signed veteran defensive end Jonathan Bullard to a contract, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Bullard is coming off a career year in Minnesota.
The 31-year old defensive end put up a career-best seven tackles for a loss with the Vikings in 2024.
Bullard spent three years in Minnesota as a run-stopping defensive end.
Before that, he had played a year apiece for the Falcons, Seahawks and Cardinals.

Bullard began his career with three seasons in Chicago. He had played for Brandon Staley with the Bears, and Staley is now with the Saints.
In total, Bullard only has 6.5 career sacks, but he has 28 tackles for loss (meaning 75% of his tackles in the backfield come on a runner, not on a passer).
The Saints will hope he can keep that coming in New Orleans.
