The New Orleans Saints have signed former Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, according to Nick Underhill.

Edwards-Helaire was the Chiefs' 2020 first round pick, but hadn't really lived up to those expectations. He was able to rush for 803 yards and four touchdowns as a rookie, but was slowly phased out of their offense over the years. Especially when Isiah Pacheco's emergence came in 2022, Edwards-Helaire was an afterthought.

He was released earlier in the week, allowing the Saints to bring the former LSU product back to Louisiana. Edwards-Helaire was apart of the star-studded Tigers offense in 2019 that won a national championship, rushing for 1,414 yards and 16 touchdowns.

He'll have the opportunity to make an impact over the Saints' remaining three games.
