The New England Patriots had a 7-6 lead in the second quarter of their Week 8 matchup against the New York Jets.

On New England's third offensive drive of the game, Patriots quarterback scrambled for an 18-yard gain in the middle for he field. He slid but was hit by Jets linebacker Jamien Sherwood. The rookie got up slowly and remained in the game for the rest of the drive.

However, when Maye got to the sideline, he was taken into the blue medical tent before heading back to the locker room. The team announced during the second quarter that Maye is questionable to return with a head injury.

Jacoby Brissett is set to take over as the team's quarterback again. It will be his first action since Week 5 against the Miami Dolphins. If Brissett goes down, New England would have to turn to emergency third quarterback Joe Milton III.

UPDATE: Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo confirms Maye will miss the remainder of this game.
