Alaric Jackson has been in this spot once before.
Back in 2022, the reliable Los Angeles Rams left tackle missed the final nine games of the season due to blood clots.
The blood clot issue is back, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Rapoport goes on to write that "the belief is he'll play in 2025," but it definitely isn't good news for Jackson or the Rams.
Jackson just got a new contract this offseason (three years, $5.75 million), an incredible rise from his origins as an undrafted free agent.
The former Iowa lineman measures at 6-foot-7, 345 pounds and has a Super Bowl ring.

After the tough finish to 2022, Jackson played 15 games in 2023 and 14 in 2024.
This news lines up with the Rams' decision to sign veteran tackle D.J. Humphries earlier in the week.
Hopefully, Jackson is OK, but it's a scary situation.
Blood clot problems have recently surfaced a couple times in the NBA with Victor Wembanyama and Damian Lillard.
Jackson and his doctors have past experience with how he has handled this situation, so that could be a help.
The Rams will just want the best for their big protector.
