The Los Angeles Rams are well underway at training camp, and preseason is quickly approaching. However, as Cameron DaSilva writes on Rams Wire, fans will have to wait to see Matthew Stafford until the season opener.
Head coach Sean McVay says to expect a "similar approach" to last season where Stafford and Jimmy Garoppolo didn't play in the preseason.
“Looking towards the preseason, expect us to take a similar approach in regard to Jimmy who will probably not play and that'll give Stetson a chance," McVay said via DaSilva. "I think for him to be able to get these reps right now will serve him well for when those games come around.”
It's a cautious approach to avoid injuries to the starters in games that don't count, and also a chance for the Rams to see what they have in Stetson Bennett, as well as several other fringe-roster guys.
