The Chargers are hoping to make another leap in Year 2 of the Jim Harbaugh era.
After finishing last in the AFC West in 2023, Los Angeles climbed up to second place last season with an 11-6 record behind only the Chiefs, who went 15-2. The Chargers relied on a defensive unit that allowed a league-low 17.7 points per game. The offensive group, led by quarterback Justin Herbert, committed the second-lowest number of total turnovers in the NFL (nine).
Unfortunately for LA, the 2024 campaign came to a screeching halt in the wild-card round when the Texans defeated the Chargers in a 32-12 playoff beatdown. Herbert threw a career-high four interceptions in the loss, preventing the franchise from registering its first postseason victory since 2018.
Now Los Angeles is heading into a new season with dreams of not only challenging Kansas City for the division title, but also proving that this team can find success under the bright lights of the playoff stage.
