Los Angeles Chargers Week 3 Inactives: Will Justin Herbert play? image

The Los Angeles Chargers got a huge boost for their game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday morning when it was determined that Justin Herbert, despite a high ankle sprain, could start at quarterback.

The team has also decided that the other quarterbacks on the roster — Taylor Heinicke and Easton Stick — will also be active. If  Herbert suffers a setback, the team is making sure it has a strong plan in place. According to sideline reporters who are at the game, it sounds like what they have seen in pre-game warm-ups suggests that Heinicke will be the No. 2 quarterback.

The news wasn't all good for the Chargers, however, as wide receiver Joshua Palmer has been placed on the inactive list as he deals with a couple of injuries. Rookie linebacker Junior Colson will also miss the contest as he nurses a hamstring injury.

Here are the Week 3 inactives...

Jordan McFadden, Tarheeb Still and Kimani Vidal have been inactive for each game this season. With Palmer out, the Chargers could look to rookies Ladd McConkey and Brenden Rice for an offensive boost.

As for the Steelers, Russell Wilson is officially inactive, meaning Justin Fields will get the start, as expected.
