The Kansas City Chiefs will have a big replacement to find.
One of their longest-tenured contributors will no longer be with the team for the 2025 NFL season.
Who?
The man who wears the Chiefs' mascot suit, who becomes KC Wolf, is retiring.
The team website shared that Dan Meers spent 35 years as the Chiefs' mascot and only missed three games.
The Chiefs won three Super Bowls in Meers' tenure, but he didn't just do football games.
In all, Meers attended more than 10,000 events, which spanned 38 states and 12 countries.

Meers was called the Chiefs' "Director of Shenanigans."
“I have countless stories,” Meers told the team website. “In one word, it has been so joyful. I’ve learned a lot about the things we chase in life, and that those things aren’t that important. Everybody is looking for joy, but they’re looking in all the wrong spots. I learned a long time ago that the most important things in life aren’t things, but relationships, and those relationships make for a pretty good life. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”
The Chiefs will surely find a replacement, although it's not clear if they have yet.
The suit on the outside will be the same, but on the inside, KC Wolf just won't quite be the same.
