The Kansas City Chiefs failed to complete the first-ever three-peat in NFL history last season. There were questions about Travis Kelce's future, but he is returning for next season.
Kelce, 35, has already established himself as a future Hall of Famer. With his age and slight decline, many questioned whether he would return to the field next season. Kelece announced he would return, but it's clear retirement is close for the 10-time Pro Bowler. He spoke on whether next season would be his last during an appearance on "Bussin with the Boys."
"It's the last one on the contract," Kelce said when asked if next year would be his last in the NFL. "I'm focused on this one. I don't know what next year is going to feel like. I don't know what I'm going to feel like in March or April next year when I make that decision."
If Kelce does decide to keep playing, it's not wrong to think the Chiefs would welcome him back. He is one of the best players in franchise history and is a candidate to have his number retired by the team.
Kelce is a four-time All-Pro, three-time Super Bowl champion and a member of the Hall of Fame's All-2010s Team. He has 12,151 career receiving yards and 77 touchdowns. However, he has failed to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards in back-to-back seasons after doing so every season from 2016-2022.
