Chiefs Patrick Mahomes sends 1-word message amid Shedeur Sanders shock image

The NFL Draft started Thursday night, and fans still have not heard Shedeur Sanders' name called. The situation has caught the attention of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, just like everyone else.

After months of being a consensus top 10 pick, Sanders had slowly been projected to be taken at the end of the first round. However, when his name was not called on Day 1, fans were very confused. On Day 2, Tyler Shough, Jalen Milroe and Dillon Gabriel were all picked before Sanders. Now, the fourth round is about to start, and with Sanders still on the board, Mahomes chimed in on X.

"Crazy," Mahomes wrote on X.

Although Mahomes did not clarify his message, fans can assume he was referring to Sanders's exit from the first three rounds. Mahomes sent the tweet around the end of the third round Friday night. However, he could simply have been reacting to LeBron James' stellar performance as well.

Sanders' slide is unprecedented. Many expected him and Cam Ward to be the first two quarterbacks taken early in the draft. However, the Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints have all passed on Sanders multiple times.

The New York Giants traded back into the first round on Thursday night, and most expected to see Sanders selected then. However, the Giants selected University of Mississippi quarterback Jaxson Dart. Now, whenever Sanders hears his name called, he will likely be a backup, waiting for an opportunity to prove scouts wrong.
