Trevor Lawrence knows a special weapon when he sees one.
That's what he sees in Jacksonville Jaguars rookie Travis Hunter.
The only dilemma for the Jags is that Hunter is as good a cornerback as he is a receiver. He won the Heisman Trophy at Colorado by playing almost every snap of every game as a two-way player.
Now, Jacksonville is working Hunter on both sides of the ball during camp to determine just how they're going to use him when the season arrives.

The QB Lawrence, of course, has a preference, and it isn't shocking.
“He’s so talented, it’s hard to keep him off the field,” Lawrence told NFL Network. “Selfishly, I definitely want him on offense more. And I told him, ‘Do you want to catch touchdowns or do you want to maybe break up a pass or two? That’s a decision you have to make.’ He’ll make plays wherever he is, but obviously as a quarterback I hope he plays more on offense. Wherever he plays to make us better, because he will make us better, I’m all for wherever that is.”
Lawrence is thinking big, thanks in part to Hunter. As part of his interview with NFL Network, Lawrence said he believes the Jags are a playoff team.

Hunter certainly helps that cause. It's like getting two new star players for the price of one, at least if it all works out.
Lawrence will happily take him as an option to throw to in the end zone. But if Hunter ends up spending more time getting the ball back for the offense, Lawrence will take that, too.
It's all in the interests of the Jaguars returning to playoff contention behind their No. 1 overall pick QB and their No. 2 overall pick two-way sensation.
