Generally, the main advice about nicknames is this: Wait for one to be bestowed upon you by someone else.

Travis Hunter didn't feel the need to wait.

The Jacksonville Jaguars' rookie phenom, the No. 2 overall pick in the draft, the Heisman Trophy-winning two-way player -- he earned the right to nickname himself.

Speaking with Pete Prisco of CBS Sports on Tuesday, Hunter revealed what they should call him:

"The Unicorn."

That's not an entirely new nickname in sports.

It's especially common in basketball, where Kristaps Porzingis was called that out of the draft due to his incredible combination of height, athleticism and shooting ability. It feels like in every NBA Draft since, at least one player is deemed a unicorn for perceived rarity.

Hunter certainly is as unique and rare and special as a unicorn is supposed to be.

Prisco pitched his own nickname, "The Machine," for the fact that Hunter takes part in so many plays without getting tired.

At a different point in his interview with Prisco, Hunter discussed his desire to yes, indeed, play every snap in NFL games, both as a cornerback and a wide receiver.

That's been the biggest curiosity about the Hunter experiment. He's regarded as an NFL-level CB and an NFL-level WR. But can he do both at the same time, consistently?

To be fair, someone who calls himself The Unicorn very well may be able to carry out just that task.

It feels like someone as once-in-a-lifetime as Hunter deserves a nickname that matches. Maybe it'll still pop up as Hunter embarks on his NFL career.
