The Texans have enjoyed two consecutive AFC South titles, going 10-7 in 2023 and 2024. They've even bagged a playoff win in each of the C.J. Stroud's first two postseasons in the NFL. Now the 23-year-old QB will look to help Houston take the next step forward in 2025, and the first step is a solid preseason.

Health, new additions and rookie development will be important factors to success in H-Town. Stefon Diggs has departed for the Patriots, and both Joe Mixon and Tank Dell will start the season on the injured list.

That means the new Texans will need to step up for DeMeco Ryans and new offensive coordinator Nick Caley. Rookie wide receivers Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel — as well as veteran wideout Christian Kirk, four-time Pro Bowl running back Nick Chubb and rookie RB Woody Marks — will all have a chance to shine early. A full season with Pro Bowl receiver Nico Collins would be huge, too.

As for the defensive side, Matt Burke's unit should have Houston fans plenty excited. The Texans surrendered the sixth-fewest total yards last season, thanks in large part to Derek Stingley Jr., Calen Bullock and company racking up a whopping 19 interceptions (second most in the NFL).

Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson also combined for 23 sacks in 2024, and both Henry To'oTo'o and Azeez Al-Shaair stood out as run-stopping enforcers. This might be the sneakiest all-around defense in the entire league, featuring plenty of young rising stars we will more than likely see in action this August.

Excited to see the Texans in their first three exhibitions of the 2025 campaign? Here is everything you need to know about the Texans' three preseason games, including kickoff dates and times as well as broadcast and live-stream details.
