The Houston Texans have begun training camp, which puts an end to their offseason as they try to win their third consecutive AFC South title, and try to advance past the divisional round of the postseason, which has been their hard ceiling over the last two years.
The Texans will have plenty of questions to answer offensively. Specifically, will the new offensive line additions end up being upgrades over the poor showing they had in 2024. In addition, can rookies Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel be good complements to Nico Collins?
With these questions lingering, the last thing they needed to happen was an injury, which is what they got to start camp.
Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Texans are placing running back Joe Mixon on the non-football injury list, meaning he can't practice until he is taken off the list.
Mixon had over 1,000 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2024, and was one of their focal points offensively. While the severity of the injuries is unknown, Houston can't afford to have Mixon miss significant time.
